Winter is probably my favourite time of year, I love everything about it, the cold weather, the exiting festive events, the fashion...but, most importantly, the makeup. One of my favourites being the classic festive party look, golden glitzy eyes teamed up with a classic velvety red lip, everything about it screams vintage Hollywood glamour, a time where, in my mind, everyone should travel back to, even if it's just for one night.

Usually I'm not really a huge lip wearer, and when I do I tend to play it safe with neutral lip butters or plain glosses. However, something inside of me really wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and plunge into colour...well, dip my foot in at least... As someone with uncomfortably dry lips, I'm constantly armed with a tube of lip balm, obsessively trying to pack in as much moisture as possible, which is why I picked the lipsticks that I did, each one glides onto the lip like butter and gives an instant boost of hydration, However, the only problem I have with the formulation is that I can feel them slipping about, and with the more pigmented ones, I'll end up with the lipstick smudged up my face or missing the middle after my first drink/meal. The setting of each one is slightly different, with the Chanel, Bourjois and Revlon shades, they kinda sink into lip and create a beautiful shiny stain, giving them a lot more longevity than the other two which kinda sit on the surface of the lip with a high gloss finish.

I absolutely adore all of the shades featured, in particular, the Coco Rouge, you can apply one coat and get a pretty rosy pink or you can layer the product up and the colour intensifies to a stunning redish, pinky, raspberry shade. I know there's one or two 'summery' shades in there, but for me they feel Christmasy and I'll be rocking them all throughout the course of this winter.

I hope you enjoyed having a butchers at some of my most loved shades atm, and if you want a detailed review on any of the ones featured just leave a comment and I'll get on it :)
