Hey there :)
Wow, I can't believe it's Friday already, it seems like only yesterday I was writing my last Friday Films Look... I would like to apologise for my lack of posts this week, the heat has left me a bit drained and lacking in motivation, but, I promise to try my best to get more posts out there this week... Anyway, back to this weeks film...
As some of you may already know, I'm a HUGE lover of Tim Burtons work, so it was inevitable that I would feature a hefty ammount of his films and this time I chose one of his newer pieces, Dark Shadows. All the women in this film have amazing makeup, so it was hard to narrow it down to one character, but as I haven't really done many bright looks, I though I would choose Helena Bonham Carter's Character, Dr. Julia Hoffman...
The Look
After creating Julia's natural base and roughly filled in her messy brows, then you can go straight on to these simple steps..
STEP 1: Using the Colour Workshop pigment with a standard shadow brush, I applied it all over the lid and then blended it up and around the shape of the crease to get a really nice rounded shape. Once I did this, I took bark on a small shadow brush and outlined the rounded shape, blending as I got further into the inner corners.
STEP 2: Once I'd finished with the shadows, I took my gel eyeliner and a small, pointed liner brush and starting from the inner corners, I slowly took it accross the lid, thickening it as I went along, and flicking it out towards the end (Tip: To get an even flick, place a dot where you want your flick to end, measure the width between the dot and the eye and then place your dot to size on the other eye). After applying the liner, I applied some of the Maybelline brow pencil all the way under my eye, Scandaleyes on the waterline, lashes on the top lash and then coats of mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
STEP 3: To get Julia's beautiful, natural flushed cheeks I took a large blush brush and blended up the cheek bone. To mute the colour intensity, I took the Benefit Dandilion and applied it on the apples, on top of the cheekbone and on top of the blush.
STEP 4: To finish off the look, I mixed the L'OReal Dating Coral and the Colour Workshop shade, and using a lip brush, applied about 2 coats all over the lips following my natural lip shape.
