Hey there :)
So if you read my last post you'll know that I've been having a few technical issues as of late and, guess what...THEY'RE FIXED!!! Thaaannnk god! I never realized quite how much of an impact blogging has made on my life, what started out as a bit of fun has turned into something I'm becoming more and more serious about and I miss it when I don't do it. Anyway, lets get on with what I really want to talk about...
M.A.C Face and Body Foundation
This is probably one of, if not the most, popular foundation amongst professional makeup artists so, as someone constantly trying to find that perfect, professional finish I was dying to get a piece of the action...
When I first applied the product on the back of my hand I was quite dubious as it looked quite matte and cakey, but once I started applying it to the face it felt suprisingly moisturizing, which is perfect for my crusty, dry skin... I did notice, however, that the texture kinda changed depending on the method of application, i.e. when I used my fingers it felt kinda dry and was quite hard to blend, whereas when I used a buffing brush (Real Techniques) it blended into the skin beautifully leaving me with a gorgeously natural dewy finish. The product is water based so it actually does gives you natural, glowing skin and not that oily, sweaty look you get from other foundations designed to give you a dewy finish. As well as being water based, it's water resistant so you don't have to worry about it moving about in the rain or through heat sweats, perfect for this time of year!
The coverage is quite sheer and feels extremely lightweight on the skin, but it can be built up to create more coverage. For me, however, I found one coat was enough as it balanced the tone of my face, giving the effect of perfect, flawless skin. It can also, as the name suggests, be used on the entire body to even out the skin tone or create an all over tan.
The shades in the collection are quite yellow based, so it's maybe not the best choice for those looking for a pinky undertone, but there's plenty of shades to mix and match to suit practically everyones skin tone. I would definitely recommend this beauty to anyone looking for a natural, glowing, professional finish, and although it retails at £27, it's definitely worth it.
Thanks for reading x
Its actually nice to finally read a review on the MAC Face & Body! I don't think I have come across many, I really want to try it, but I have very pink undertones, so it might may be look a bit ill with the amount of yellow in it :(
ReplyDeleteGreat post though! I'm now following! :D
