Haul & Review | Superdrug

Hey there :)

Anyone that knows me will tell you that I LOVE to beauty shop, especially when it doesn't break the bank, so, as you can imagine, Superdrug is my idea of heaven, and these days, you can find some amazing products to rival even the best highend ones. At the backend of last week, I decided I would have a little peek on the Superdrug website and here's what I ended up with...

Antomicals 'no old bags allowed' Eye Gel

If you've seen my post on the Clinique Even Better Eyes dark circle corrector, you'll know how much I adore that product, but at £29 it's a little bit pricey to keep repurchasing so when I saw this I was on it like a rash... Unlike the Clinique one, it's a clear, gel textured formula that you work around the eye with your ring finger and within about 2 hours you can start to see any dark circles or puffiness slowly fade away. As it takes a bit of time to start to work, you get better results if you apply it before bed and then you'll wake up with gorgeous, bright, bagless eyes. As an alternative to the Even Better Eyes, I think the the Clinique one definitely has the edge but at such a low price it does it's job. What I like most about the product, though, is the stylish typography packaging, it's so cute and fun to read when you're applying the product.

Mud Therapy

One of my all time favourite things to do is take off all my makeup, run a nice hot, candle lit bath and relax with a nice, detoxing face mask. Because of this, I always make sure I have a hefty supply of face masks so I never run out, and this little beauty is the latest addition to my collection... When I first saw this, I was instantly attracted to the packaing, it prevents the product from getting everywhere and allows you to use it over and over (unlike most face masks out there) until you've used it all up. Although it's a 'mud' mask, it has the texture and consitancy of a moisturizer so it feels quite lightweight but once it starts to set, it becomes really tight and slightly unfortable but when you've washed if off after 10-15, you're left with beautifully soft, deep cleansed skin. I love this product and would reccommend it to anyone looking for a cheap, good quality mask.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine, Dragonfruit

As you all probably know by now, I'm in head over heels for the Barry M Gelly Nail polishes and this little beauty is the latest member of my collection. Now if you're not familiar with the Gelly polishes, their basically an intensely high shine, chip resistant polish that last for over a week. They come in a range of gorgeously chic shades and this is my latest favourite, it's a beautiful, fun, barbie pink that adds a pop to even the drearest of outfits, stunning and right up my boulevard!

Tresemme Karatin Conditioner
As someone who has dry, frizzy hair, I'm always on the lookout for a conditioner that's going to make my hair smooth, sleek and pack it full of moisture and as I'm a fan of Tresemme anyway, I thought it only made sense that I tried out this one. It's enriched with Keratin (a component that structures the hair) intended to nourish and smooth each strand and make it more managble. This drew me in instantly as my hairs kinda felt a bit brittle lately, on top of its natural dryness so I was really excited to try it out.
When I applied the product, I took about half the average ammount of shampoo and starting from the ends of the hair, I massaged it upward (this is to prevent the roots from looking greasy) and then rinsed if off after about 2-4 minutes. It left my hair a LOT smoother and softer than it was before, it also left me with a subtle, healthy shimmer, does just what it says on the tin!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Every review, haul or favourites video/blog I see, seems to be boasting about how amazing this product is, so naturally I thought I was on to a winner, but I was wrong... Now, I don't mean to offend anyone but I HATE this concealer. Yes, I know hate is a very strong word but, I don't know if it's the hype that's been surrounding it or just my own personal expectations, I seriously dislike this product. When I applied it, I expected it reduce my dark circles and brighten the eye area, but instead, it had a really watery consitancy which just looked transparent on the skin and just didn't have any effect at all. The only good thing I can say about this concealer is that the formula works with dry skin and doesn't look cakey, but apart from that, it's not worth it.

This One Shine Mist

As I mentioned before, I'm always in pursuit of hair products that are going to inject a bit of life back into my dull hair and, as I've been wanting to try out some shine mists for a while now, I thought it was only right I got this. Suitable for coloured hair (perfect for me!), it contains argan oil, lychee extract and UV filter desinged to smooth, shine and protect the hair... Now, I have to say, I wasn't too keen on this product, when I first applied it I was taken back by the strong, disgusting scent (not far from the odour of urine), which put me off instantly and once used again, I didn't actually notice any change in the texture or sheen of my hair, it was just as if I was spraying my hair with a really musky body spray. Now just because I don't like it, doesn't mean it isn't suitable for everyone but I would definitely advise investing in a mist a bit dearer and that you know if going to do it's job.

I hope you enjoyed that, I'm sure I'll be purchasing more products soon to share soon :) As always, don't hesitate to leave a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can :)

Thanks for reading x
